Frequently Asked Questions

A short guide to how Axiom works, what to expect, and how to begin.

What happens during the initial consultation?

The initial consultation is a confidential conversation with our academic director. We discuss the student’s background, ambitions, current challenges and previous learning so that we can recommend an appropriate tutor and propose a personalised plan. The consultation is complimentary.

Can I choose my tutor?

Yes. You may request a particular member of the faculty, or we can recommend the tutor we believe is the strongest match for your needs.

What happens if the tutor is not the right fit?

Book your first session with complete confidence. We take great care over every match, but in the unlikely event that your tutor does not feel right for you, there will be nothing to pay.

Which levels and subjects do you teach?

We work with students from early education through to university and professional study. Our faculty covers subjects including economics, mathematics, statistics, econometrics, finance, accounting, business, management, and politics.

Can you help with my university module?

In many cases, yes. You can search our university module directory by institution, module title or module code. Where a module is not listed, send us the syllabus and a brief description of the support required.

Can tutors help with coursework and dissertations?

Yes, within the rules of academic integrity. Tutors can explain concepts, discuss ideas, help students strengthen their reasoning, review structure and provide feedback on work. The purpose is always to develop the student’s own understanding and ability.

Will a tutor write or complete assessed work for me?

No. Axiom tutors do not write essays, dissertations or coursework on a student’s behalf, complete examinations, or produce work intended for submission as the student’s own. We support students in producing better work themselves.

I have to resit a university exam — can you help?

Yes. Resit preparation is one of the areas we support most often — every resit candidate we have worked with has progressed to the next year. Our dedicated resit tutoring page explains how the programme works, the tutors best suited to it, and how quickly we can begin.

How do I get started?

Tell us the subject, level of study, availability and the help required. We will review the enquiry, recommend an appropriate tutor and propose the next steps. Start a conversation with us and we will reply promptly.
